The hotel is in an excellent location across the road from the waterfront harbour area of the city. Rooms are medium in size and in a good condition following new carpets and furnishing in 2008. In addition all windows have now been soundproofed reducing noise level by up to 80 per cent. There is a full range of facilities in rooms, including mini bar, TV with satellite channels, iron, ironing board and hair dryer and broadband access points. All rooms have sea views over the harbour area. Tactics restaurant on the first floor, brasserie style, overlooking the harbour. There is a bar adjacent to the restaurant. A 1970's building of concrete and glass. Medium-sized check-in area with a small lounge area off to the left. One of the best located hotels in Auckland, restaurants, bars, shopping is all on the doorstep of the hotel. Water-based activities, such as sailing, harbour cruises, dolphin cruises and ferries to the outer islands are just across the road. The hotel has benefitted from a refurbishment, including new carpets and bedspreads throughout. all windows now soundproofed. Excellent value for all travellers. SE1208
