In the suburb of Merivale, approximately four kilometres to the city centre and 10kms to the international airport. Also close to the City's Hagley Park. The hotel is divided by the Papanui road. There are two standards of room type. The motor inn, and the main hotel rooms. Facilities are basic but rooms are in good condition, they have mini-bar, TV with cable channels, radios, Iron/ironing board. Tudor's restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner and offer a good range of meals, mainly European cuisine. The Earl of Essex cocktail lounge is located adjacent to the restaurant.
